The Private University of Applied Sciences for Business and Technology (PHWT) began introducing scholarship programs in 2023 to support talented and committed students. Although our scholarship offer is currently still limited, we are actively working on expanding it to support even more students.

Applying for a scholarship at PHWT is simple and straightforward. On these pages you will find all the information you need to find out more about the individual scholarship programs and the application requirements. We encourage you to apply in good time to have the best possible chance of receiving financial support.

Lower Saxony state scholarship

PROMOS

Lower Saxony state scholarship

The Lower Saxony Scholarship is an initiative of the state government of Lower Saxony in partnership with educational institutions to support talented students and recognize excellent academic performance.

Requirements and benefits:

To be considered for the Lower Saxony Scholarship, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Good academic performance
  • Enrollment at the PHWT in the 2nd or higher semester

When awarding scholarships, special preference is given to students who fulfill one of the following criteria:

  • Students from so-called educationally disadvantaged backgrounds, especially those who are the first in their family to complete a course of study
  • Students with difficult starting conditions due to flight
  • Students in financial emergency situations

The scholarship holders receive financial support in the amount of € 500.

PROMOS

The PROMOS scholarship is a funding program of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) that supports students who would like to spend a period abroad as part of their studies. The PHWT awards this scholarship to motivated students who demonstrate good academic performance and commitment.

  • Financial support for a stay abroad
  • Promotion of intercultural skills and personal development.
  • Opportunity to network with international students and experts.

Application requirements:

To apply for the PROMOS scholarship, you must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Active enrollment at the PHWT in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program
  • Interest in intercultural exchange and international networking.
  • A plan for your stay abroad.

An application for a PROMOS scholarship is possible until May 31st of the year in which the stay is scheduled to begin. All PHWT students are eligible to apply. You can find more details in the award guidelines.
The scholarship amount for a stay is between around €1000 and €1500 (depending on the country).
