Rollout 2024 #Fire hazard

01. Jul 2024

Last Friday it was that time again. The Rollout 2024 of the Formula Student Racing Team at the PHWT. The atmosphere on the campus in Diepholz was charged when 54 students from the bachelor’s degree programs in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering and mechatronics presented their new racing car “DD24” from Deefholt Dynamics e.V.. The hard work and commitment of the students was palpable, especially considering the short development time of just a few months, as always. The presentation began with an introduction by Antonia Redbrake, the overall manager of the racing team, Jannik Ebel, the head of mechanics, and Melanie Focken, the head of electrics. Their comments were more than just informative, as they described the challenges and successes of the development phase. The words of praise from the President of the PHWT, Prof. Dr. Dennis De, who expressed his appreciation for the students’ outstanding performance and team spirit, were also moving. The technical innovations of the “DD24” were very impressive. The weight of the vehicle has been significantly reduced by optimizing various components. In addition, a completely new battery design has been implemented in the electrical system, which increases performance and facilitates maintenance. This progress is testament to the team’s high level of expertise and innovative spirit. A special moment was also spent thanking the sponsors, who made a significant contribution to the success of the project. Some of them were present and it was nice to see them experience the first drive of the car on campus live. Their applause and support are a valuable part of this impressive project. The anticipation of the upcoming races in Austria, Hungary and Germany was palpable. Taking part in the “Formula Student” competitions will certainly be another highlight for the team and the university.
